About Delhi Laxmi Yojana 2026
The Delhi Laxmi Yojana, formerly known as Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, is a government scheme focused on empowering economically weaker women by providing monthly financial assistance. The Delhi government has allocated ₹5,110 crore in the 2026–27 budget for this program.
Officially notified on 6 August 2026 by the Department of Women and Child Development, the scheme became effective on 1 August 2026 and will run initially for three years. Eligible women will receive ₹2,500 monthly, digitally transferred to their bank accounts, to enhance their financial independence and decision-making capabilities.
Payment Options for Monthly Assistance
- Option 1: ₹1,500 deposited into a Recurring Deposit (RD) or Fixed Deposit (FD) account, and ₹1,000 credited to a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) wallet usable only for government-approved essential purchases.
- Option 2: Entire ₹2,500 deposited directly into an RD or FD account.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a woman aged between 21 and 60 years.
- Family’s annual income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
- Applicant or her family must have resided in Delhi for at least 10 years.
- Only one woman per family can avail benefits, with priority to the eldest eligible woman.

- Women who pay Income Tax or file GST returns.
- Government employees or families with members working in government departments or PSUs.
- Women already receiving benefits from other government financial assistance schemes.
- Families owning a four-wheeler vehicle.
