Third Language Marks Rule Explained
The new rule changes how final scores are calculated.
Hindi is commonly offered as the third language in SSLC.
- Marks in third language will not be added to total score
- Subject remains mandatory to appear
- Focus shifts to core subjects for final result
Karnataka SSLC Grading System 2026
The board has also replaced marks with a grading system.
Students will be awarded grades instead of marks:
- Grade A
- Grade B
- Grade C
- Grade D
Karnataka SSLC Passing Criteria 2026
Students must meet minimum qualifying requirements to pass.
Both conditions must be satisfied for a pass result.
- 33% aggregate in internal and external exams
- Minimum 30% marks in each subject
Important Exam Update
The third language exam will still be conducted as scheduled.
Students should continue preparation for all subjects despite the change in weightage.
